One way I have helped alleviate the stressful nights at home is by having a weekly menu plan in place. This saves me time, energy and money each week. Another way, I have eased the stress is by teaching my children how to cook their own meals at a young age. Often times, they are assigned one night a week to completely cook the meal. Those are always my favorite nights of the week.
If you want to have your children start cooking dinner. Start them out by having them be your sous chef on a regular basis. Then assign them a night with a freezer or a slow cooker meal like Monday. You could prepare the ingredients for Make Ahead Sloppy Joes and add them to the slow cooker while the chef that evening prepares everything else. Eventually, have him or her be in charge of more. These little lessons go a long way to easing your sanity and giving your child skills for the future.
Monday – Make Ahead Sloppy Joes, Chips, Veggies and Dip
Tuesday – Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole and Smoothies
Wednesday – Quick & Easy Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas, Chips and Salsa
Thursday – Classic Spaghetti with Meatballs, Herb Garlic Bread and Salad
Friday – Pepperoni Pizza Ring
Saturday – Grilled Italian Chicken Sandwich and Salad
Sunday – Hot Dog Bar, Potato Salad
Dessert of the Week: Pink Lemonade Pound Cake
