Warm Spiced Cranberry Cider

As the weather begins to get chilly here in Indiana, I’m always looking for a warm drink, a good book and fuzzy blanket. From about mid October all the way through the holidays, we enjoy this Warm Spiced Cranberry Cider.

While recently looking through my Mom’s recipes with Doug, we came across this one and I was reminded of when my Mom made this delicious drink for the crowd while camping. We would gather around the bonfire, as she dipped the cider from the big pot for us. If we were lucky she would add a big dollop of whipped cream to the top.

A perfect drink to warm you up during a chilly Fall night of Tailgating, Hayride or just sitting by the bonfire. Apple Cider, Cranberry Sauce and Pineapple Juice plus seasonings made this delicious drink a hit.

All the flavors just scream Fall to me. With the added cranberry sauce and pineapple juice, it gives it an extra zip. You could even add a little cinnamon schnapps for the adult crowd if you like, perhaps for a Tailgating or Football Party.

We served the Hot Spiced Cranberry Cider in Mason Jar Mugs with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar and a thinly sliced apple for garnish. The recipe serves about 8 (1 1/2 cups) mugs, but you can easily double the recipe or serve in smaller mugs if you are serving the cider for a party.

  7. […] With the beginnings of brisk and windy weather, we need to find another way to stay warm besides cable knit sweaters and worn cardigans (as well-loved as they may be). Embrace the cold with a piping hot cup of spiced cranberry cider instead of the controversial pumpkin spice latte. Brown sugar and allspice make the concoction a fall essential, while a surprising addition of pineapple juice gives an extra kick to the drink. Don’t forget the whipped cream when testing out this recipe. […]
