As the weather begins to get chilly here in Indiana, I’m always looking for a warm drink, a good book and fuzzy blanket. From about mid October all the way through the holidays, we enjoy this Warm Spiced Cranberry Cider.

While recently looking through my Mom’s recipes with Doug, we came across this one and I was reminded of when my Mom made this delicious drink for the crowd while camping. We would gather around the bonfire, as she dipped the cider from the big pot for us. If we were lucky she would add a big dollop of whipped cream to the top.

All the flavors just scream Fall to me. With the added cranberry sauce and pineapple juice, it gives it an extra zip. You could even add a little cinnamon schnapps for the adult crowd if you like, perhaps for a Tailgating or Football Party.

We served the Hot Spiced Cranberry Cider in Mason Jar Mugs with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar and a thinly sliced apple for garnish. The recipe serves about 8 (1 1/2 cups) mugs, but you can easily double the recipe or serve in smaller mugs if you are serving the cider for a party.
