If your home is anything like ours, we love pizza, pretty much any variety there is. But we often get tired of regular pizza, so recently we changed it up a bit with this Pizza Casserole. All the great flavors you love about pizza, but in an easy to make casserole!
The ingredients added to this Pizza Casserole are totally up to you and what your family likes, which is one of the reasons I really like it. I added pepperoni, ground beef and mushrooms.
This is also a great make ahead meal and would also do well in the freezer. You could certainly mix everything and then keep it warm in the Slow Cooker, but really, the meal is done in under 30 minutes, so it’s definitely on the table fast either way.

would I double this recipe for a 13 x 9 pan?
Hi Judy, yes you certainly could. The recipe does make quite a bit, but if you need to serve more, doubling is fine.

if you freeze this – would you freeze the cooked noodles, or add them after cooking?
You can add the noodles in with everything else, easy peasy!
OMG! What a Georgios recipe. I can not wait to make one.
Just made on a “snow day” in New England for the kids — big hit!
No added salt? I went light on pepperoni, so added a little.
Thanks for the recipe 🙂
How long would I bake this for if I freeze it ahead of time?
Just enough to warm it up, not to cook it. Keep check it out in the microwave to see its progess.
I’ve been making a version of this for years. I use ground beef, Italian sausage, & cut up Canadian bacon. Also lots of veggies – green pepoer, tomatoes, mushrooms, black olives, onion. Because I live in MN, I have to add a can or 2 of cream of something soup, usually cheddar cheese & cream of mushroom. Then I use pizza sauce instead of tomato sauce. It ends up making a TON, but it freezes so great.
Thanks for sharing your variations. Happy cooking!
I’m having foot surgery so I’m looking for meals I can freeze ahead of time. Just for my husband and myself.Should I thaw it out in the fridge and then bake it in the oven?
Thawing it in the fridge overnight before baking it in the oven would be best. It will also take less time to cook than if you place it in the oven when it is still frozen. Either method will work. I hope your surgery goes well and that you like the recipe!
