Chocolate is my love language, so my Valentine knows a Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Bouquet is the way to my heart.

Sorry, pup. I’m not going to share these sweet treats!

Although they look fancy and beautiful, they’re ridiculously easy to make.

Here’s what you will need:

  • Bamboo skewers
  • Fresh ripe strawberries
  • Chocolate candy melts
  • Parchment paper and ribbon

Simple Instructions for making Chocolate Covered Strawberries

  • Pour a heavy 1/2 cup of the chocolate candy melts int a microwave safe bowl. Melt the chocolate for 30 seconds and stir. Repeat in 30 second intervals until smooth and melted. Do not overheat! If there are still a few chips that are not fully melted, they will melt as you stir.
  • Next, pierce the end of each washed, dried, chilled strawberry with the sharp point of skewer. It’s important that the berries are fully dry so the chocolate will adhere to the surface. The chill of the berries also helps the chocolate set quickly so when you lay them on the parchment, you don’t get a big glob of melted chocolate.
  • Then dip the pointy end of each berry in the melted chocolate and swirl to coat evenly. My kids love making these and each likes to get their berry the most fully coated and smoothest. The candy melts make it sooo easy.
  • After swirling, hold the berry above the bowl for a moment to catch any drips. Then place the finished strawberry on the parchment paper and repeat with remaining strawberries.
  • To gift these, I like to wrap the chocolate dipped strawberry bouquet in parchment as you would a bouquet of flowers. You can use tissue paper if you’d like, or a pretty tea towel if you’d like to add to the gift. Stagger the berries in the bouquet (some higher, some lower). Tie the bouquet with a ribbon.
  • If you want to get extra fancy, you can drizzle white chocolate over the berries.

1/2 cup Ghirardelli Chocolate Melts

parchment paper and ribbon

  7. Repeat with remaining strawberries.
  8. Wrap the chocolate dipped strawberry bouquet in parchment as you would flowers. Tie with a ribbon.

Notes

Make sure the strawberries are fully dry before dipping for the best coating of chocolate.

If your chocolate starts to cool before you are finished dipping all the berries, simply reheat it and stir in the microwave.

Room temperature strawberries will make the chocolate take longer to set.

If you’d like to get fancy, you can melt some white chocolate too and drizzle it over the finished strawberries before wrapping them up.

These bouquets make a perfect gift!

And you don’t have to wait for Valentine’s Day to give these to someone you love or appreciate. Instead of flowers, my youngest made these to celebrate her sister’s dance recital and they were the envy of all the other dancers. They would make great teacher appreciation gifts, as well.
