We have teamed up with ALDI to sponsor this post. As always, the opinions are all my own.

Summer is almost here, which means lots of BBQs, family events, and boys to feed! I love an Easy Summer Cookout and my new go-to recipe is Sweet BBQ Kabobs!

All three of my boys are grown and mostly out of the house. But during the summer, we have one home from college and the other two visit a lot more. It is amazing how much they can add to my grocery bill!

SWEET BBQ KABOBS RECIPE: Easy Summer Cookout Ideas

On the menu for our Easy Summer Cookout – Sweet BBQ Kabobs with Chicken and Steak, Potatoes with Mushrooms, a Fruit Platter and Lemonade. It’s quick, easy and SO delicious! As a former Walmart shopper, I have been heading to ALDI a lot more to keep my grocery bill down!

Not only do I love how much I save at ALDI, the produce always seems fresher, larger, and lasts longer!  The peppers from ALDI are on the right, they were $1.89. The peppers at Walmart were $3.44, that is a savings of $1.55, and the peppers are better quality. There is nothing I hate more than throwing away veggies that have gone bad, and ALDI produce has helped me throw away less- saving me even more money!

When my boys are home, we love to have simple backyard BBQs. The boys can hang out and help Doug with some chores and it is easy for me to throw together! One of our favorite recipes is Sweet BBQ Kabobs. This time we made them with chicken and steak.

And just to show you how much I saved, I grabbed all of the ingredients that I needed from Walmart:

And grabbed all of the same ingredients from ALDI:

I saved $11.21. That is amazing, and, of course, I had leftovers of many of these ingredients so making it the next time means I save even more! And the thing that surprised me the most by purchasing the same groceries at both stores, was the quality, especially the meat and produce, I found at ALDI.

To make the kabobs, start by cutting up your meats, peppers, and pineapple. I LOVE grilled pineapple, it brings out all of the sugars and just tastes like summer to me! Add your meats and veggies to the skewers, brush on about half of the sauce and grill. Then brush on more sauce during the grilling!

I like to brush on a little bit more sauce once they come off. These kabobs are easy, delicious and fill up my three grown sons!

Add in a side of fresh fruit (how beautiful is that fruit!) and dinner is served.

What is your go to summer meal? Have you checked out the ALDI in your neighborhood? I would love to hear your experiences!
