As football season approaches, we thought it would be fun to share with you some yummy recipes that you can share at your next Tailgate Party or even a potluck or get-together.
We love Mexican in our house and usually plan at least one meal each week with tacos, quesadillas or one of our family favorites, Taco Ring. While grocery shopping a couple of weeks ago, we picked up a package of fresh Pico de Gallo in the produce section and quickly discovered how easy it would be to make ourselves. With a quick search, we found a perfect recipe from Emeril Lagasse on Food Network.
We love to visit the Farmer’s Market, and knew that we would find the perfect ingredients for the Pico de Gallo. In our area, the tomatoes and peppers are plentiful.
What’s the difference between Salsa and Pico de Gallo?
Well, according to Kitchen Savvy, while Salsa has many of the same ingredients that Pico has, Pico may also include fresh ingredients like cucumbers, pineapple, mango, or other ingredients not typically found in Salsa.
And in case you were wondering, Pico de Gallo is pronounced Pee’ Koh de Gah” Yoh which means rooster’s beak. I knew you would just be dying to know that!
