Welcome to Pocket Change Gourmet! You can read all about our new blog and find out what we are up to.
Menu planning is one of those chores that I have done for a long time and actually love. It also considerably cuts down your grocery budget. Planning a whole month worth of meals can be overwhelming at first, but after just a few months, you will quickly get in the swing of it and realize how easy it is. If you already menu plan for a week, taking about 15 minutes extra to add the rest of the weeks will cut your time down the rest of the month.
Do I always follow the exact meal I have planned for a specific day? No
Do I ever fall off and not follow my menu plan? Sure
But, in the long run…it’s a huge help to have the whole month planned. For instance, if you happen to see chicken at a really good price, and you know you have chicken on the menu 6 times this month, you know exactly how much to buy for the whole month. The other great thing I love about planning the whole month, I rarely repeat meals. There are a few meals that are our favorites, and I repeat those, but typically we have something different.
