Popcorn Bar

There’s a certain magic about movies. One of the things that adds to this magic is popcorn. Any movie watcher who respects themselves can’t view a film without it. The greatest thing about popcorn? You can change it in so many different ways! By adding in some candy, or sprinkling a different flavored salt on it, you can transform your regular popcorn into something new and exciting. That’s why we created the Popcorn Bar!

Popcorn is a great treat. It’s tasty while being light enough that it doesn’t weigh down your diet’s conscience. But after so many movie nights and theater trips, regular buttered popcorn starts to lose its luster. What’s a movie goer to do? I was pondering this while I was grocery shopping, when an item caught my eye. It was different seasonings for popcorn. Well after that my gears started turning out ideas and soon enough it came to me: a Popcorn Bar!

A Popcorn Bar is much like our Hot Dog Bar, but with popcorn, different flavors of seasoning, and different candies. The concept was simple. I found some bags just big enough for each member of my family. You can find regular paper bags just about anywhere these days. I labeled each bag for each of my loved ones (yes, the dog too!) then filled them up with popcorn. I like to cook it on the stove, but you can cheat a little with the microwaveable bags. If you have a popcorn maker, use that too!

Once the popcorn was done I set out the toppings. My family loves chocolate and fruity flavors, so I grabbed Raisinets, Buncha Crunch, M&M’s, and gummy bears. Then I set out the seasonings. From the selection that was available to me I chose nacho cheddar, Parmesan garlic, kettle corn, ranch, and buffalo. There were more available so check out your local store or you can get them on Amazon! Once everything was set out I let my family at it. They had a blast making their popcorn unique. I had already made mine (kettle corn seasoning with M&M’s on top, yum!) so I set up the game and popped in the movie. Then boom! An easy night of fun with the whole family!

There’s just something special about movie night with the family. Adding in this popcorn bar made it that much more special. There’s hundreds, maybe even thousands of combinations that you can make with the different salts and candies out there. There’s sure to be multiple combinations that your family will love as much as mine did. Spreading that love around and having some quality time with my family is where that certain magic of the movies shines.
