Sweet, juicy, Easy Peach Cobbler with gluten free fluffy cinnamon biscuits, served warm with vanilla ice cream. Dreamy! This Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe simply rocks. And it lives up to its name because you don’t need to peel the peaches. It’s an old fashioned recipe with a modern twist. I love peach cobbler during peach season and have tried many recipes, but this one is absolutely delicious!
My family loved this gluten-free cobbler recipe because it’s not overly sweet and has a balance of soft peaches and fluffy, forkable, biscuit-like cobbler topping. It’s supremely satisfying and tastes like summer in a bowl. And, yes, it’s easy to prepare!
Why you will love this Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe
- Ease. Skipping the step of peeling the peaches not only omits a lot of hassle, but also adds so much beauty to the dish! The dark color of the peels tints the juices a deep summer sunset color that makes this Easy Peach Cobbler even more appealing to the eye.
- Speed. The Gluten Free cobbler topping takes less than 5 minutes to prepare so you can drop the sweet cinnamon biscuits on top of the fruit and pop it in the oven, even after a long day of peach picking.
- Taste. This Easy Peach Cobbler recipe has balanced flavor, texture, and sweetness. The acidic sweet peaches contrast with the creaminess of the whipped cream. And the gluten free cinnamon biscuits on top add great flavor while letting the clean taste of the peaches shine.
- Quality. Some recipes call for canned drained peaches and a yellow cake mix to make peach cobbler. And while I’m all for cutting corners on our camping trips, using fresh peaches and made from scratch Gluten Free cobbler dough makes a world of difference. This recipe truly tastes like summer. The canned and boxed versions taste like… anytime. Do yourself a favor and go for the real thing! It seriously takes just a few minutes more- 5 to be exact!
As a former teacher, I love summer and I love desserts:). Peach desserts hold a special place in my heart. In fact, no summer is complete without a batch of homemade peach cobbler, homemade peach ice cream, and homemade peach pie. Going to farmers’ markets or pick your own fruit farms and then spending the next day baking (or making jam if I’m ambitious) always makes our summer highlight reel. I hope you enjoy this Easy (Gluten Free) Peach Cobbler as much as we do!
Frequently Asked Questions:
How to tell if peaches are ripe enough for cobbler?
A ripe peach will yield when you push on the flesh, as if you were trying to make an indentation with your thumb. A ripe peach will also smell very fragrant. When choosing peaches for your Easy Peach Cobbler, choose darker skinned peaches; the darker color develops as they ripen on the tree. Longer tree-ripening time means sweeter peach. YUM.
Which is better for cobbler, canned, fresh, or frozen peaches?
Fresh peaches make the best peach cobbler by far. Their texture and sweetness are optimal and give you the best flavor in the cobbler. Sometimes it’s difficult to let the fragrant bag of fresh peaches ripen on the counter long enough to become cobbler- we often eat them up before I get time to bake them! Frozen peaches definitely work well in cobbler, but be sure to thaw them first. Canned peaches, in my opinion, are for my camping cobbler recipe. They will do in a pinch. Their sweetness rocks, but I find the texture too soft. Nothing beats a cobbler made with fresh picked peaches! Don’t even get me started on peach pie filling. It’s the pits.
What is the difference between peach cobbler and peach pie?
While you prepare the fruit in a similar method, pie has a rolled bottom and top crust usually made with flour, fat, and salt. Cobbler, on the other hand, only has a top crust, which is usually sweetened and dropped onto the surface of the macerated fruit, as in this Easy Peach Cobbler recipe. Peach pie is my hands-down favorite pie, but that family-favorite recipe, developed by my Grammy, is still forthcoming. Stay tuned!

- Yield: 6 servings 1x
Description
Ripe, sweet, juicy, peaches with fluffy cinnamon pillows, served warm with vanilla ice cream. This Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe simply rocks. And it lives up to its name because you don’t need to peel the peaches! It’s an old fashioned recipe with a modern twist. I love peach cobbler during peach season and have tried many recipes, but this one is absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
For Cinnamon Biscuits (Cobbler Topping)
1 cup Gluten Free cup for cup flour
1 cup almond flour
½ cup granulated white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup milk or cream
½ teaspoon salt
5 Tablespoons softened unsalted butter
1 Tablespoon reserved for sprinkling on top
Peach Filling
8-9 peaches sliced with skin (6 cups sliced peaches)
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Recipe for Easy Gluten Free Peach Cobbler:
Begin by removing butter from refrigerator to soften. Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter. Set aside.
For the fruit filling:
- Next, wash and slice the peaches. No need to peel them. Place sliced peaches into a large bowl.
- Mix the cornstarch and salt into the 1/3 cup sugar. Sprinkle over the fruit and stir. Set aside to allow the mixture to macerate while you prepare the cobbler topping.
For the cobbler topping:
- Mix the softened butter and 1/2 cup sugar in a medium bowl. Cut the butter in with a pastry knife or mix with a silicone spatula until creamy.
- Then combine the dry ingredients together (both flours, sugar, salt, cinnamon, baking powder). Reserve one Tablespoon of sugar for the last step.
- Stir the vanilla into the milk.
- Then pour half of the flour mixture and half of the milk into the butter mixture and stir gently to combine. Repeat with remaining milk and flour mixture. Do not overmix or the dough will be tough.
Assemble the Cobbler:
- Pour the macerated fruit into the greased pan. Make sure to get all the peach juice from the bowl into the pan!
- Drop small spoonfuls of the cobbler topping onto the fruit. I prefer to leave them as biscuit-sized pillows, but you can spread them out with a silicone spatula to cover the whole surface if you prefer.
- Lastly, sprinkle the sugar over the top of the dough and place the pan in preheated oven.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the peaches are bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
- Enjoy your delicious cobbler warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
sweet peaches + cinnamon biscuits = heavenly
