Every year when we visit our County Fair one of the must have treats, is Pork on a Stick! After years of experimenting and searching for the perfect flavor, we just happened to stumble upon it when we tried a new recipe for grilled pork chops recently. If you are a fan of the delicate flavors in Chinese cuisine these are a treat right up your alley.

The marinade for these pork skewers goes a long way, when we first made these I was concerned that the recipe would not make enough for the amount of meat I had purchased. Pleasantly I was surprised and found that there was more than enough to do the job. Marinating the meat not only infuses the flavors of the varying ingredients, but also helps to tenderize it so we save a little money by buying pork chops instead of a pork tenderloin.

Some cuts of pork can be expensive, but by using pork chops and cutting them into bite size pieces for the skewers we are able to make this a frugal treat for the entire family. And if you wanted to make these for a meal, might I suggest a little fried rice…that would be yummy!

So next time you are looking to switch things up a little give your family a little taste of the Orient, you’ll be the King of the Crowd!
