Description

There is something FUN about eating food off a stick! And these Turkey Cheddar Sausage Kabobs are not only fun to eat – they are fun to make! AND they are delicious to eat and budget friendly to make!


Ingredients

Scale

Marinade

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard or honey mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Kabobs

  • 1 package, Johnsonville Turkey Sausage with Cheddar Cheese (13.5 oz package), cut into 36-1″ pieces
  • 20 grape or cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 20 fresh mushrooms, cleaned and stemmed, cut in half
  • 1 large green bell pepper, cleaned and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 medium onion, cleaned and cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 small zucchini or yellow squash, cleaned and cut into 1 inch pieces

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, place them in water about 20-30 minutes before grilling
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients, add veggies
  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees, line cookie sheet with parchment paper
  4. Thread sausage and veggies onto skewers, reserve marinade
  5. Set on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 16-20 Minutes, turning halfway through
  6. Serve immediately

Notes

This recipe is sweet due to the honey and mustard, Use spicy brown mustard for a kick. Also, this can be make ahead. Marinate vegetables in a bowl and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Cut up sausage and store in a covered bowl in fridge until ready to assemble. Remove from fridge, assemble and cook.
You can also cook on the grill.
