Description
There is something FUN about eating food off a stick! And these Turkey Cheddar Sausage Kabobs are not only fun to eat – they are fun to make! AND they are delicious to eat and budget friendly to make!
Ingredients
Marinade
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard or honey mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Kabobs
- 1 package, Johnsonville Turkey Sausage with Cheddar Cheese (13.5 oz package), cut into 36-1″ pieces
- 20 grape or cherry tomatoes cut in half
- 20 fresh mushrooms, cleaned and stemmed, cut in half
- 1 large green bell pepper, cleaned and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 medium onion, cleaned and cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 small zucchini or yellow squash, cleaned and cut into 1 inch pieces
Instructions
- If using wooden skewers, place them in water about 20-30 minutes before grilling
- In a large bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients, add veggies
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees, line cookie sheet with parchment paper
- Thread sausage and veggies onto skewers, reserve marinade
- Set on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 16-20 Minutes, turning halfway through
- Serve immediately
Notes
This recipe is sweet due to the honey and mustard, Use spicy brown mustard for a kick. Also, this can be make ahead. Marinate vegetables in a bowl and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. Cut up sausage and store in a covered bowl in fridge until ready to assemble. Remove from fridge, assemble and cook.
You can also cook on the grill.
