Slow Cooker Green Beans with Ham

A great way to use up leftover ham. Perfect as a side dish or add some cornbread and make it a meal.

  • 2 lbs fresh green beans, washed and cleaned
  • 1 cup ham, cooked and diced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, rough chopped
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt or salt to taste


  1. Clean the green beans by snapping off the ends and then snapping longer ones in half.
  2. Cut the ham, and rough chop the yellow onions.
  3. Add the green beans, ham, yellow onion and salt to the slow cooker.
  4. Add enough water to just cover the green beans.
  5. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 8 hours.
