Homemade Biscuit Mix
- 4 1/4 cups flour, all purpose
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup instant nonfat milk powder
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons shortening
Red Lobster Cheese Biscuits
- 2 cups Homemade Biscuit Mix {or Bisquick}
- 1/2 cup grated cheese, cheddar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Homemade Biscuit Mix
- Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl, whisk together
- Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or your fingers until mix crumbles
- Store in an air-tight container in a dry cool place.
- Use within 10-12 wks. Be sure to date it.
Red Lobster Cheese Biscuits
- Combine biscuit mix, cheese and milk
- Stir until well combined, about 30 seconds
- Drop by teaspoon full onto greased cookie sheet
- Bake at 450 degrees for about 8-10 minutes or until golden
- Melt butter and stir in garlic powder
- Brush on warm biscuits
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 10 minutes
