Mexican Basics: Classic Guacamole

As most families, Mexican food is not only one of our favorites, it’s also one of the most pocket friendly meals you can serve. Whether you like spicy food or not {like me}, most Mexican recipes are bursting with flavor. All this week we will be sharing Mexican Basics, beginning today with Classic¬†Guacamole.

The crazy thing is about Guacamole, Doug and I didn’t think we would like. You know how you always tell your children to try it because they might just like it, well we should have taken our own advice. It wasn’t until we visited ALDI Headquarters last Fall, and had a Guacamole challenge that we actually discovered that we liked it.

There are probably as many Guacamole recipes as there are cooks making it. This Classic Guacamole recipe uses the basic ingredients; avocado, tomatoes, onions, lime juice, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.

Watch for more Mexican Basics all this week like Homemade Tortillas, Pico de Gallo, Mexican Rice and learn all about Chiles too!
