Description

Savory ham and cheese satisfy in this quick and easy crowd-pleasing recipe. Perfect for brunch, holiday breakfast, or special breakfast for dinner, this Ham and Egg Casserole Recipe tastes great when made the same day or made ahead.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup chopped ham

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded or grated parmesan cheese

1 Tablespoon flour

6 eggs

2 cups milk or cream

½ teaspoon dried mustard

½ teaspoon ground pepper

¼ cup melted butter

Instructions

If cooking the casserole right away, preheat oven to 350° F.

Cut the ham into bite-size pieces.

Next, combine the ham with 2 cups shredded cheese, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, 1 Tablespoon flour  in a large bowl.

After that, spray a 13×9 baking dish lightly with cooking spray. Then, spread the ham mixture evenly.

Melt 1/4 cup butter and drizzle over the mixture.

In a separate bowl, whisk 6 eggs, 2 cups milk or cream, 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.

Finally, pour the egg mixture over the ham mixture into the baking dish.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. You know that it is ready by inserting a knife into the center of the dish. If it comes out clean, you are good to go!

Notes

For extra color and flavor, you can add 1 cup chopped onion and 1 cup chopped red bell pepper to the mixture. It lends a more traditional Western Omelette flavor to the dish.

Also, you can sprinkle the casserole with sliced green onions before baking to add flavor and a touch of green.
