- 2 pounds fresh green beans, washed and stemmed
- 1 large onion, cut into pieces
- 3 strips raw bacon
- 1 tablespoon Kosher salt per 8 cups of water
Instructions
- Wash and stem green beans {snap in half if they are long}
- Add to large pot on the stove
- Add 8 cups of water {a little more, being sure to cover beans}
- Add onion, bacon and salt
- Bring beans to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for at least 2 hours depending on how you like your beans cooked
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 2 hours
