Savor the flavors of summer with this Fresh Green Bean Recipe from
  • 2 pounds fresh green beans, washed and stemmed
  • 1 large onion, cut into pieces
  • 3 strips raw bacon
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt per 8 cups of water
  1. Wash and stem green beans {snap in half if they are long}
  2. Add to large pot on the stove
  3. Add 8 cups of water {a little more, being sure to cover beans}
  4. Add onion, bacon and salt
  5. Bring beans to a boil
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for at least 2 hours depending on how you like your beans cooked
