Classic recipe for Spaghetti Sauce and Meatballs. Recipe from
Spaghetti Sauce
  • ⅔ pound Italian bulk sausage
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed or 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Fresh Garlic
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (16 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Gourmet Garden Italian Herbs or Parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Gourmet Garden Fresh Basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ pound Italian bulk sausage
  • ¾ pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ milk
  • ⅓ cup bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed or 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Fresh Garlic
  1. Brown sausage in a large skillet
  2. Add herbs, cook about 1-2 minutes
  3. Add tomato sauce and tomatoes
  4. Add salt and sugar
  5. Cook until thick
  1. Whisk egg and milk together in a small bowl.
  2. Crumble ground beef, Italian sausage, onion and garlic into a large bowl, add egg and milk mixture and toss to coat.
  3. Add bread crumbs and parmesan cheese and mix together thoroughly.
  4. Roll about a heaping tablespoon of meat mixture into a ball and place on a greased baking sheet and cook for 20 minutes in a 350 F oven.
  5. Makes 18-24 meatballs
Meatballs can be made ahead and frozen. Spaghetti Sauce can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container or frozen.
