Homemade Croutons for Salad or Soup

Serves: 3 Cups
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Slice the roll into ½-inch thick slices
  3. Pour seasoned rice vinegar into a small bowl
  4. Generously brush both sides of bread with vinegar
  5. Sprinkle lightly on both sides with onion powder and one herb; or use chili powder
  6. Cut each slice of bread into ½-inch wide strips, then into cubes
  7. Spread cubes out on a baking pan
  8. Bake 7-8 minutes or until light golden brown
  9. Remove from oven and stir.
  10. Cool in pan about 10 minutes
  11. Croutons will stay crunchy for a week or more stored at room temperature in a sealed plastic bag or plastic container.
