What Tailgate would be complete without some Barbecue Pork? Here’s our version of traditional Barbecue Pork Sliders.
Now we don’t have a smoker to fix an entire pig for our Tailgate Party, so we go ahead and fix our Pork Roast the day ahead in a slow cooker. Just season it up with some salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder and cook on low for 8 hours. Then the day of your Tailgate Party, shred the meat up into small pieces.
We love to make our own Barbecue Sauce but if you are pressed for time, a prepared sauce works just as well. Recently we’ve taken a liking to Sweet Baby Ray’s. Just dump the meat together with the Barbecue Sauce into a slow cooker or if you prefer you can place it in a roasting pan on your grill and heat through.
Now to assemble these puppies…
- Take a small hard roll (our store calls them Dollar Rolls) cut in half to form a sandwich, scoop out some of the inside of the bottom of the roll to get more yummy pork on.
- Add your pork
- Top with cole slaw mix and a Bread and Butter style pickle chip
- Serve with a Pepperoncini pepper on the side
Even a small roast will go a long way when you use it for these Barbecue Pork Sliders!
What is your favorite Tailgate treat?

I love a good shredded pork sandwich but never thought to make sliders. These look really good.
Thanks Micha! They were definitely a hit with our boys 🙂
