One of the fantastic aspects of sharing recipes is getting to try just about every form and species of meat out there. We’ve grilled, baked, broiled everything from beef to gator tail. Now just about now you’re looking back at the title and wondering where I’m going with this.

You may think that using chicken for burgers is mundane, and I normally would have to agree with you but with all the flavors that are coming at you in these Asian Infused Chicken Burgers you’ll soon be changing your mind.

Ground Chicken is one of the most difficult forms of meat to work with, but when you get it right there’s few better ways to serve it for a meal.

Getting the chicken cooked to where it is considered done is a balancing act. If you under-cook the meat you run the risk of being ridiculed for the remainder of your life, (thanks boys) and if you swing to the other side of the scale you will end up with  tasteless shoe leather. No shoe leather can taste better.

Since ground chicken is naturally low in fat keeping the burgers juicy is a trick. A time tested method to do this is to add additional moisture to the meat before you cook it, I know it seems like cheating to me as well. But I don’t mind cheating a little when I can add all the flavors that are in this burger. I mean, with hoisin and soy sauce hopping a ride with the sesame oil, garlic and green onions wouldn’t you do the same.

Add a kicking form of mayonnaise to the burger and you won’t be able to find a griddle big enough to satisfy your family’s demand.

Asian Infused Chicken Burger

  1. Combine the chicken together with the hoisin and soy sauce. Add the other ingredients including the sesame oil, garlic and onions. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Form into patties, they will be quite moist from all the sauces that we have added but that’s good.
  3. Form a small dent in the center of the patty with your thumb.
  4. Cook patties on a griddle over medium low heat, keep a close eye on them because they tend to burn.
  5. Cook about 4 or 5 minutes on each side until the internal temperature is 160 degrees F.
  6. Remove from griddle and let sit 5 minutes.

Assembling your Burgers

  1. Spread Spicy Mayo on both the top and bottom sections of the buns.
  2. Add your burger and top with lettuce.
