Bacon – I have a love-hate relationship with it. I love to add it to recipes and of course eat it. I hate the mess it creates when it’s cooking. So, several years back I started cooking bacon in the oven, there is less mess and the bacon cooks evenly.
Cooking for a house full of men that love bacon, I quickly had to learn a better way to cook it without the mess and hassle of frying it on the stove top. After a few attempts to figure out what would work the best, we decided on the cookie sheet and wire rack method. Once you try cooking bacon in the oven, you will never fry it on the stove again. It’s one of our best Kitchen Tips.
Add a wire rack to a cookie sheet that has an edge. For even quicker clean up, you can add foil to the bottom of the cookie sheet.
Then spray the wire rack with non-stick cooking spray. And layer the bacon on the rack.
Into the oven it goes at 400 degrees to cook for about 15-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the bacon and how crispy you like it.
