Filling several bags with our recipe for Old Fashioned Homemade Pancakes is quick and simple. We like adding the list of wet ingredients right on the outside of the bag with a Sharpie marker. It makes the process even quicker.

While your griddle is heating, grab a bag of the Pancake Mix and add it to a large measuring cup or bowl. Then add the wet ingredients and give the batter a quick whisk.

The griddle should be ready by now, give it a good coating with cooking spray and you are ready to cook your pancakes. This process is so easy, even the kiddos can mix and cook the pancakes with a little supervision for little ones near the hot griddle, of course.

  1. I woke up this Sunday morning. And as you would guess it is a thing I do with the kids on my weekend of we make brunch. I looked in the cupboard and no box mix.oh the kids said no pancakes. I remember years ago my mom only made her own.so I googled and found your’s. they were easy, we had the the ingredients in and they were delicious and just enough. We will make them again.i also like the idea of making the mix ahead. So next time the kids want pancake I’ll grab a mix bag . Thanks

    • Hi Michelle, I’m so glad we could make the morning fun for you and the kids!

  2. do you think I could do this in mass quantities, but how much dry ingredients would I use to make it. Instead of wasting all the plastic bags. 🙂

    • Hi Tara, it depends on how much you want to make. You can just multiply the amounts of dry ingredients, so if you want 4 batches, then use 4 cups flour, etc.
      Hope that helps!

Do you store the dry mix in the freezer? I’m making up 3 batches now – excited to try this! Thank you!

    • Hi Alyson, you certainly can store it in the freezer, but you don’t have to.

  4. Hi, great way to lessen the time to prepare pan cakes. I have few questions: do you store the dry mix at room tempreture or can i make a batch and put it in fridge (not freezer)? Can i use same amount of melted butter instead of oil? Thanks!

    • Hi Reema, we store the dry mix at room temperature in an airtight container or resealable bag. We have not put it in the fridge or freezer, but I’m sure you could. We have also not used butter, but you could certainly try it.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Thank you very much for this wonderful recipe. It definitely was a lifesaver when my daughter woke up and said she wanted pancakes!:-). I’ll never buy the box stuff again. I added a sprinkle of cinnamon it gave it a very nice aroma.
