Homemade Meatballs and Weekly Menu Plan

by Liz on March 19, 2012

Happy Monday my friends! Did you all enjoy St. Patrick’s Day? What did you cook? Let us know if you tried one of our recipes, and what you thought.

Along with our Weekly Menu Plan, we are sharing a recipe for Homemade Meatballs. Making them from scratch is really kind of fun, getting your hands all gooey is soothing in a strange kind of way. A few weeks ago we shared Meatball Stroganoff, and promised to share the Homemade Meatball recipe…then promptly got busy with St. Patrick’s Day Food. So here we are today with the recipe.

We started with Pioneer Woman’s recipe, and kicked it up a notch with Angostura Bitters. We first used Angostura in the Italian Sliders and loved how it added the extra boost of flavor. We also used a combination of beef and pork sausage, which gave the Meatballs extra flavor as well.

Doug used the cookie dough scoop to make the Meatballs a little smaller than we normally do, so that we could use them in Meatball Pizza Subs.

A little roll in some flour…

And off to the frying pan they go…

After a quick browning, into a glass pan and all ready for the oven…

Be sure to stop back later this week to learn our tips for freezing meatballs. And watch for the Meatball Pizza Sub Recipe coming soon!
