All week long we are sharing some fun ideas for Halloween Party Food. Doug and I are just tickled to death {we might have even squealed} when we put these Frankenstein Appetizers together.

Using some very simple ingredients, your kiddos {and you} will have a blast putting Frankie together. Let’s get started…

We found all the ingredients at Walmart, which makes them budget friendly as well.

Description

Make these fun Frankie Appetizers for your Halloween Party. Original creation and recipe from PocketChangeGourmet.com

Ingredients

  • Block Cheese – we used Pepper Jack, but any white cheese will work
  • Wilton Green Color Mist – found in the Party Section
  • Eyes – Sliced Black Olives
  • Nose – Baby Carrots, Cauliflower or other veggie
  • Mouth – Pepperoni
  • Hair – Curly Parsley
  • Bolts and Handles – Pretzel Sticks
  • Handles – Lollipop Sticks

Instructions

  1. Cut the cheese into rectangles or squares
  2. Place on a piece of wax paper or foil and lightly spray with the Color Mist
  3. Add the pretzel or lollipop stick for the handle {you could also leave these off and lay them flat on a serving plate}
  4. Add pretzel pieces or cauliflower pieces for the bolts
  5. Add the face
  6. Using a toothpick, make a small hole in the cheese and push the parsley in for hair
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes

Notes:

  • We found it easiest to work with the cheese when it was cold, if it gets soft it will crack. Place in freezer for a few minutes if it gets too warm.
  • If the face pieces don’t stick, you can use a little corn syrup to attach them

Be sure to stop back each day this week as we share another fun Halloween Party Food Idea! And check out all the decorations, printables including cupcake toppers, treat bag toppers and drink flags on Hoosier Homemade.

So what do you think? Does Frankie make you smile?

  1. These are too cute and so healthy. Did you by any chance try using food coloring on the cheese vs spray? Just wondering if that would work.

    Thanks.
