Grilling Spice Blend

Spring has sprung! And with that comes grilling season, and all the delicious food to be prepared on the grill. But first we need to get prepared, and this Grilling Spice Blend is perfect for beef and as a base for barbecue it’s unbelievable. You can even add to vegetables if you’re adventurous and then there’s Beer Can Chicken…Yum!

Making your own spices is not only really easy, it’s  a great way to be able to customize what flavors you add. Maybe you like a little more garlic and less onion in your Spice Blend. It also gives you the freedom to experiment with new spices to tweak that favorite recipe.

Grilling Spice Blend

Spice blend for the grill, great on beef, pork and poultry. Recipe from


  • 2 Tablespoons Paprika
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Cayenne pepper
  • 3 3/4 teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Onion Powder
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons Dried Oregano
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons Dried Thyme


  1. Blend all the ingredients together.
  2. Store in an air-tight container for up to 30 days.


Doug Says... add as little or as much as you want, the spices bring out the smokiness of the grill.
