We are taking a little break from Farmer’s Market Friday until after Fourth of July. There are so many great recipes we want to share with you, there just isn’t enough time to get everything done. Yesterday, we kicked off our Fourth of July Menu with the All-American Burger and Main Dishes, today we are sharing a somewhat traditional Seven Layer Salad, but served a really fun way…in a jar!

We loved the Deli Style Pasta Salad served in pint size jars so well, we thought we would try it again with this delicious Seven Layer Salad. Once all the ingredients are cut, the jars go together in a snap. Put the lids on, and pack them in a cooler for a picnic in the park or even to share at your Fourth of July Celebration! Believe me…people will think you are genius!

The Seven Layer Salad has well…seven layers! Imagine that…lettuce, hard boiled eggs, crumbled bacon, chopped tomatoes, green onions, grated American cheese, and peas. The dressing is a simple combination of Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise, Sour Cream and a tablespoon of sugar to taste.

  2. Well if that don’t beat all! I just made 7 layer salad today and wish I would have seen this first. What a terrific way to pack up for a picnic or to have for single servings at home. VERY clever! I love this.

I’m wanting to prep for the week and just wondering how long this salad last for packaged like this? ?It looks looks amazing 🙂

    • I would not prep it much more than the night before you plan to serve it. The lecctuce would be the issue and the cut edges could turn brown.
