How I Make Chick-Fil-A Sandwiches

The recipe called for the chicken breast to be tenderized by smacking it with a mallet. I’ve never found that to be effective and it’s just another time-consuming step. Let me share with you the best way I’ve found to tenderize chicken breast lay the breast on the cutting board and slice the breast horizontally midway through the thickness of the breast. This has always worked well for me and is super quick.

I didn’t change the recipe much, actually, aside from the way I tenderize the chicken the only other deviance from the original was I used celery seed in place of the celery salt. Mainly because I only had the celery seed but after making this I would leave the celery salt out from now on anyway.

Aside from that the only other piece of advice is to cook this in a cast-iron skillet…it just works the best.

I even got a thumbs up from my sons who are chicken aficionados and Liz even commented on how tender the chicken was, though she was so/so on the marinating chicken in pickle juice marinade. I’m still working with her on that one.

I tried this recipe except i was out of pickles but had a jar of pickled jalapenos, so i modified the seasoning slightly for that combined them all in the juice and marinated the chicken over night. Then instead of frying the chicken i grilled them on my foreman grill, not only was the sandwich delicious it was also healthier

    remember toast your buns on low heat just till golden brown you dont want dark toast for this

    Chick-fil-a uses peanut oil to cook the chicken. Although it is free of peanut protiens, so no allergy alert.

    These look delicious. Assuming by the size of the pickles, that you used slider buns. How many do two chicken breasts make? I am guessing largely dependent upon how big the breasts are!! I have teenagers. May need to triple?

  6. I made these and they were absolutely fabulous! I chose to slice the breasts while marinating and then fried them butterfly style. I followed the recipe ingredients as they were provided. I did leave them marinating for 3 days and they had a wonderful pickle flavor. I feel like the chicken more matched with Martin’s chicken sandwich, which i love even more! It could have been that I put them on brioche buns though. Thank you! I’ll be making these again and again! ?
