We’re helping you out today with dinner ideas for the kids for Valentine’s Day. These Heart Shaped Bacon Cheeseburger Pockets are a perfect Valentine’s Day Dinner Idea for the little ones – simple, tasty, and easy to prepare.

In order to make this easy cheeseburger pockets recipe, you will only need your love for cooking, the patience to follow the instructions, and the joy to share the meal with your loved ones!

I was trying to find a recipe that was kid-friendly for Valentine’s Day. I wanted to make something that was at the same time creative and delicious.

I started from knowing how much the boys loved the homemade pizza pockets then, I remembered that everybody’s a fan of cheeseburgers. So, I decided to join these two great recipes into one!

And lo and behold I made a recipe in which I combined the two.

The dough goes together in a snap, but if you are short on time you could also use a ready-made crust similar to pizza crust. We used our bread machine, making the process really easy and fast. Or if not you can definitely use pizza dough, too. It should not make that much of a difference. Using pizza dough will also help you gain some additional time because the dough was already prepared.

Serve them with your favorite condiments, ketchup, and mustard, or reserve some of the cheese sauce that is in the burger mixture for dipping. After all, cheese dipping is extremely delicious and irresistible.

We used a Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter. We wanted to have them in a heart shape in order to celebrate Valentine’s Day. But, do not feel forced to follow suit! You can certainly enjoy the Bacon Cheeseburger Pockets any time of year by having them in any shape convenient to you.

Re: the dough–If done in a bread machine, it will have raise time. What is the raise time if mixed by hand? None is indicated.

Also, kneading time would be helpful for cooks not accustomed to making bread. I can figure both these things out, but they ought to be included for novice bakers.

  2. Great hit last night! I didn’t have a bread machine, so i dissolved yeast in the warm water, kneaded for 10 minutes, and let rise till double (about 40 minutes. )
